Kids' clothing size chart by height

Kids' sizes are named after ages, but they are cut for heights. A tall 5-year-old and a short 7-year-old can wear the same size 6. Measure your kid and read the size off the height.

How to measure

Measure again every few months. Half an inch can move a kid from the middle of a size to the top of it, and that changes what to buy for next year.

T sizes and number sizes

2T, 3T and 4T are toddler sizes. They are cut with room for a diaper and a rounder belly. Sizes 4 and up are cut slimmer and longer. A 4T and a 4 are close in height, so a kid leaving 4T usually moves to a 5.
